History: ACVH was established in 1988 by Dr. Mimi R. Moore, a 1985 graduate of VA-MD Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. The practice was operated for the first 6 years from her home in Rockville, making house and farm calls in a 23 ft. fully equipped mobile veterinary hospital serving a 25 mile radius. In 1994, desiring to hire an associate, Dr. Moore built the present free standing facility on Rt. 90 in Rockport. The new hospital opened October 31, 1994 and she was joined by associate Dr. Grace Simonson, a 1988 graduate of Tuffs School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Moore and associates continued to use the mobile van for the next 14 years, making regular visits to Islesboro and the midcoast community. In November 2008, the mobile van was removed from the road after 20 years of serving the practice well. Since 1994, Dr. Moore has mentored five new doctors of veterinary medicine and is proud to have four student employees go on to become practicing veterinarians.
Dr. Simonson practices small animal medicine and surgery exclusively, while Dr. Moore continues to see a limited number of farm animals in addition to working full time in the hospital with companion animals. Dr Dmitriy Kopytnik joined the All Creatures team in August of 2013. He brings his expertise in internal medicine, soft tissue, and orthopedic surgery.
At ACVH we strive to run an efficient practice and thus to contain costs for our clients. Because billing systems are costly, we require payment at the time of service.
We are happy to provide an estimate to help clients budget for veterinary care.
